Hey again!!

This week , I’m diving into something super close to my heart – the rollercoaster ride of body image and self-esteem in women. Grab your comfiest seat, a glass of wine and let’s chat.❤️

You know how sometimes you scroll through your social feeds, seeing all these picture-perfect lives and bodies? Yeah, been there, done that. It’sk kinda like everyone’s having a blast at a party we weren’t invited to. But here’s the thing, those snapshots? They’re just that – tiny, filtered glimpses into someone’s life.  You hear it called the “Highlight reel” and that is exactly what it is!

I have a good friend… she is beautiful  and has a social media following that’s off the charts? Well, last year we had this chat. And guess what? Behind those glamorous posts, she was struggling. Big time. Her self-worth was riding up and down with every like and heart-react she got. It blew my mind because, from the outside, she seemed to have it all together.

I see this every single day at the boudoir studio too.  Women upset because their images got less “Likes” due to the damn algorithm, nothing at all to do with them.

That got me thinking about us, the real everyday women. We juggle jobs, relationships, maybe a kid or 4, or a fur baby or 4😜 (Y’all know I love my Pups Baloo, Mowgli, Simba and Chloe ). We’re out here trying to live our best lives, and yet, we’re often so hard on ourselves. We look in the mirror and sometimes, all we see are the flaws, the ‘shoulds’, and the ‘if onlys’.  We all do it.  Every last one of us.

Here’s a little story.

Last week, I was trying on some dresses for an event I have coming up. Something I usually avoid at all costs.  You know the drill – the harsh lighting, the unforgiving mirrors. I was on the verge of a mini-meltdown.But then, this awesome lady in the next fitting room says, “Girl, you look amazing!” And just like that, my perspective shifted. It wasn’t about the dresses, it never was ….It was about how I saw myself in them.

It’s crazy how we let these external factors dictate our self-worth. It’s like we’re in this constant battle with ourselves. But here’s the deal – our bodies are incredible. They carry us through life’s ups and downs. They deserve love and respect, not constant critique.

So, here is my idea…. Let’s start changing the narrative. Let’s celebrate our bodies for what they can do, not just how they look. Let’s find beauty in the strength, the scars, the stories they tell. It’s not about fitting into society’s mold; it’s about breaking it and making our own.

And self-esteem? It’s an inside job. Trust me, it’s not about reaching that ‘ideal’ weight or having the perfect skin. Even the girl you think has the “perfect body” hates hers.  I see it every day.

It’s about loving and accepting ourselves, quirks and all. It’s about standing in front of that mirror and saying, “I am enough. I am worthy. I am beautiful.” and believing it.

We need to be our own best friends, our own cheerleaders. Let’s lift each other up, celebrate each other’s victories, and be there during the struggles. Because when we stand together, we’re unstoppable.

If you need this more in your life come join our women only group….I promise every single one of those ladies would love to be your cheerleader You can join us here

So, my dear friend, here’s to embracing our beautiful, perfectly imperfect selves. Here’s to being kind to our bodies and nurturing our self-esteem. We’re all works in progress, and that’s perfectly okay. Let’s enjoy this path, embracing every step, every curve, and every unique part of ourselves.

Until next week, keep being you. You’re absolutely amazing, just as you are. 💖
