Boudoir FAQs (and Answers!)
- I don’t know if I’m comfortable sharing my images online, will you post them?
I will ONLY share your images if I have written permission from you to do so. You are also able to determine which photos, if any, I am allowed to share. My clients’ privacy is of the upmost importance, so what I share of your session is completely and 100% up to you. I will never post anything online that you do not want.
- Where will my boudoir session take place?
I shoot exclusively out of my studio located in northwest Fort Wayne. I have gone to great lengths to make sure my space is relaxing and well suited to fit your every need (I often refer to it as my ‘happy place’), but you are always welcome to schedule a brief tour beforehand if that will help ease your nerves!
- What should I wear / Do I need to bring lingerie?
I have a fully stocked lingerie closet that has oodles of options for women of every shape and size imaginable (I MIGHT have a bit of an addiction to buying lingerie…). So, don’t worry about buying lingerie for your session! Just get your pretty little self through my door and we’ll figure out what outfits to put you in from there.
As far as what to wear to your session, I always recommend comfy clothes. This day is all about pampering you! Feel free to show up in whatever makes you feel relaxed and comfortable.
- When will I get to see my images after the session?
My turn-around time for images is about 7 days, so you can expect to be coming back to see your images in about a week from your session. I like to make that waiting period as quick as possible because I know how excruciating waiting can be.
- How much will you “edit out” of my images?
Here at The Intimate Story, I try to showcase your natural beauty as much as possible and, therefore, keep my Photoshopping very minimal. I rely much more on strategic posing and angles to downplay your least favorite bits. However, I will take out any acne/sunspots/bruising along with diminishing some wrinkles and age lines. Other than that, what I take out is completely up to you. I will not touch anything permanent, like scars, stretch marks, or tattoos, unless you specifically ask me to. Again, my goal is to show you how beautiful you are; I want to work with what you’ve got, not take it away!
- How long will the session take?
I usually tell clients to block off at least 2 or 3 hours for their session. Your whole experience, including hair and makeup and outfit changes, shouldn’t take more than 2-2 ½ hours. But there is always a chance it could take a bit longer and the last thing I want is for you to be stressing about not taking enough time off.
- I have no idea how to pose. I’m definitely not a model!
No worries, not a single one of my past clients was a model either! They’re all real women, like yourself. I don’t expect you to know what you’re doing, that’s what I’m here for! I will work and instruct you, step-by-step, through every pose throughout your entire session.
- What payment options do you accept?
I accept everything from credit/debit cards to personal checks to cold hard cash. I also offer payment plan options. This whole experience is about loving yourself and getting all the image that help you feel that way, so rest assured I will work with you on whatever budget you might have.
- How should I do my hair and make-up?
I have 2 amazing hair and make-up artists on my team to help you look your best on the day of your shoot. And the best part is: their services are included in your session fee! So again, all you really have to do is get through my door and let us take care of the rest. [Symbol]
- I’m not *insert insecurity here*(young, thin, photogenic, etc) as the other women on your website. Can I still do this and look good?
Every woman who has ever stepped foot into my studio has her fair share of body insecurities. My job is to show you how beautiful you are and how those “problem-areas” aren’t really problems at all. In fact, they’re what make you unique! I’m here to celebrate you regardless of size/shape/color you are. I promise that you are absolutely gorgeous the way you are, let me show you!
