Hey girl hey!
Have you ever considered getting boudoir photos taken but then you saw the price and said “Oh, hell no!” Me too, girl. Me too. But have you ever wondered why boudoir photography is so damn expensive? As someone who’s been on both sides of the camera, let me break it down for you.
First of all, let’s talk about the elephant in the room – yes, boudoir photography can be pricey AF. But think about it – when you’re getting your regular, every day photos taken, you’re probably not paying for a professional makeup artist and hair stylist to come in and make you look like a goddess. You also might not have the perfect lingerie, or be paying for a high-end studio with all the bells and whistles. But with boudoir photography, all of those things are kind of necessary if you want to get the full experience.
Another reason boudoir photography is expensive is because of the amount of time and effort that goes into creating those perfect shots. Sure, you might only be in front of the camera for an hour or two, but trust me – the photographer is spending waaaay more time than that on your images. From setting up the perfect lighting, to directing your poses, to editing the final images – it’s a whole lot of work that can’t be rushed.
Speaking of which, editing those images can be a whole job in and of itself. Depending on the photographer, they might be doing basic touch ups like smoothing out your skin or removing blemishes, or they might be going full-on photoshop wizard and completely transforming the way you look. And that takes time and expertise that not everyone has, which is why those prices can skyrocket.
Finally, let’s just talk about the value of boudoir photography. These are not just random sexy pics of you in your undies – these are professional, high-quality images that can be cherished and admired for years to come. It’s the mindset shift that comes from seeing yourself from someone else’s point of view. They can be a gift to yourself, your partner, or even just a symbol of your own self-love and confidence. But all of that value comes with a price tag, my friends.
These photos begin your journey to self love and acceptance. They allow you to see yourself how your partner sees you. They begin to teach you that hating your body is absolutely pointless and how to begin to love it. Boudoir photography may be expensive, but it’s not without reason. there’s a lot that goes into making those sexy pics worth the investment. But at the end of the day, it’s up to each individual to decide if it’s worth it for them. If you’re on the fence, my advice is to at least consider it – you might be surprised how much those images can mean to you in the long run. And if not, hey – you can always just take some selfies in your underwear for free.
