The last few weeks I have talked about what to wear to hide your tummy and how to accentuate your legs in my What to Wear Wednesday series.
Today I want to talk about something else that is very important in thinking about your session.
The details.
No matter what you do, they are so very important aren’t they? They are what pulls everything together, gives it that polish.
In my boudoir photography, I like to focus literally on the details. 
If you are married I will most likely get at least one ring shot. I don’t care if you are just getting married or have been married 20 years. That ring is huge tangible evidence of your relationship with your significant other.
But I don’t only focus on rings. As a boudoir photographer, I also like to focus on one single part of you.
Just focusing on one single part…eyelashes, just a glimpse of your cheek, your collar bone…that is how your lover can see them when you are close together…a very shallow plane of focus. I like mimimicking that in my work.
Jewelry is also one of those things I encourage everyone to pay attention to. I have multiple strands of pearls in the studio we can play with but I love love love sparkly bling!! Ps. I really like sparkly shoes too.
It goes without saying..Ladies make sure you have your nails and toes done 🙂 They do matter!
The last details I want to talk about are the ones that tell a story. Especially if you are thinking you want to do a Little Black Book from your experience, it is fun to have props that add to the photos.
Things that give more information as to just who you are, things you enjoy, things that are important to you…
I get asked all the time about props. My answer is an unequivocal YES! Bring them. If you don’t have them we will see what we can do about getting them! I am a creative and I love nothing more than creating a story to add to the fantasy we are doing.
